Renewal of Vows

So if, my dear, there sometimes seems to be
Old bridges breaking between you and me

Never fear. We may let the scaffolds fall
Confident that we have built our wall.

(Seamus Heaney, 'Scaffolding')

When reflecting on their wedding, any happily married couple remembers that feeling of not wanting the day to end. A Renewal of Vows ceremony is a wonderful opportunity for a husband and wife to pronounce once again their love for each other and to celebrate the life and marriage they have built. Many couples also see this ceremony as a chance to mark the beginning of a new chapter of their lives together.

During my consultation with the couple, I will map out the path their lives have taken since their wedding to the present day. The main body of the ceremony would include important milestones of the couple’s life or significant memories they wish to share with their family and friends.

Along with reaffirming their original vows, couples can choose to exchange new rings and invite significant others to participate in meaningful or traditional rituals. Ultimately, because this ceremony does not require any legal proceedings, there is total flexibility in how it is presented.
